Todd James

Todd has over 20 years international banking experience, which includes risk management, debt capital markets, derivatives trading and investments.  He began his career as a derivatives analyst with Royal Bank of Canada in Toronto before moving to the UK, focusing on debt capital markets and derivatives, working for several international banks including the Royal Bank of Scotland as Director European Derivatives Marketing.

In 2001 he moved to Asia, working for HSBC Global Markets, developing structured Investments, for retail and high net worth investors throughout Asia.  In 2006 he moved to HSBC Private Bank where he was the Head of Investment Advisory Group based in Hong Kong. Most recently he was the Head of Investment Services, Advisory and Discretionary for two boutique Swiss private banks.

He is the author of “Interest Rate Derivatives: A Practical Approach”, published by Risk Books, UK, in 2006. He provided expert witness testimony for civil cases involving high net worth individuals. He also conducts training and seminars on global markets, compliance and wealth management topics regularly.
